An Introduction to Sundanese Music
Curious what Sundanese gamelan is all about? Come spend an hour with us and listen to the sweet melodies of West Java, Indonesia. You'll see and hear beautiful instruments created by master builders Asep Ahum and Chris Andersen. There will be instrumental music, singing, dance, and a discussion about the music. Rail Trail Cafe – Forest Gamelan with Fantastic Food
We return to one of our favorite places to play, a cafe in the woods on the Walkill Valley Rail Trail, with delicious organic food specializing in microgreens and yummy pizza. Bard’s Fisher Center, the music of Lou Harrison
We are thrilled to join Bard College's summer music festival honouring Mexican composer, Carlos Chávez. We join the 6th evening event entitled "East and West" with other exciting chamber ensembles. Sekar Mawar will perform two pieces by Lou Harrison with guest artists on viola and french horn: Threnody for Carlos Chavez and Main Bersama-sama. A pre-concert talk begins at 7:30pm, with the concert to start at 8pm.

This year we participate in the 3rd Annual Kingston Fetival of the Arts, joining the myriad of chamber music ensembles that pop up all over the city of Kingston, from gamelan to opera on the Hudson.
